Governance

The County Service Area 38 is a dependent district of the County of Santa Cruz and is governed by the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors.

There is no separate governance activities or meeting schedule. CSA 38 business is conducted by Board of Supervisors actions taken at regular Board of Supervisors meetings as noted on the agendas.

While there is no staff directly assigned to CSA 38, a number of staff people have a role in administering CSA 38 including: the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax-Collector’s Office, who collects property taxes, the Sheriff’s Office, who administers the budget of the Sheriff’s Office and CSA 38 and the County Administrative Office, who oversees the budgets of the Sheriff’s Office and CSA 38.
